Onesime Godin Family Tree

My grandparents Onesime Godin & Mable Duprey
with their children. All 14 of them!

One of the best hobbies I've ever taken up has been looking up my family tree. It's so exciting when I find family members. Especially those that I've never met. It's fun when you get to learn about them. What they did for a living, who their children and parents were, where and how they lived. I was able to learn about my Acadian Heritage. Something I had never heard of before. The History of the Acadians is so fascinating. My family was part of all the struggles they had to go through. Their homes were burned, their families were separated, they were deported in large ships from their land in Canada to France, England and parts of the south in the United States. Louisiana is one of the states where lots of the Acadians ended up. These people are better known as Cajuns. Two of these ships never made their destinations because they went down at sea. Many Acadians perished on other ships due to over crowding and disease. It's so fascinating. I recommend this hobby to everyone. Try it. Once you start you'll never stop!

In this section of my website, I've listed my family members, both Ancestors and Decedents. If your family came from France and Canada, check it out. We just might be related! Click on the picture to enter.
