I remember playing Sweet & Innocent over and over again. Even putting my speakers in the window so people outside could hear it, hehe I'm bad. I played it so much one day that the lady who lived downstairs shouted up to me to play another song. She was tired of hearing it lol! Go figure. :o) Well, I wasn't tired of it so I kept on playing it, except I took the speaker out of the window and had him all to myself. Hey, at least I wasn't greedy ha!
There hasn't been a day that has gone by since my mother bought me my first album that I haven't thought about Donny and or the Osmonds in some way. They've been apart of my life for so long, that I just can't even imagine my life with out them. I think I remain a fan because it's something I can do, to keep a part of my childhood alive. I can control that. It can't be taken away like some things can as you grow. Not unless I want it to go away. Oh sure you have to grow up, but who said you had to leave the child inside of you behind? I love keeping that little girl alive. Family members will tell me "You haven't grown out of that yet?" Why should I?
I'm not the type of person who wears Osmond tee-shirts everyday. Once in a while yes I do wear one. I don't wear purple just because it was Donny's favorite color. I don't get things "because" it's purple. I may have done that when I was younger, but that I "have" grown out of. I do have a couple of pictures up at work, from when I've met Donny or Marie or the brothers, I have some pictures up at home, and I must admit that I do have a license plate that says "OSMNDS" but that's about it. I don't talk Osmond 24/7. If I don't meet them after a show, it's no big deal. I do try, but if they don't come out, that's cool. I'm not a fan who goes overboard. I'm way past that and a bit too grown up for it. Darn it! LOL!! I just enjoy having them around. I do plan on having a room displaying all of my collection soon since I have so much. Having it all in one area is great. And it's something I can show off. Elvis fans do it, Marilyn Monroe fans do it, Beatle fans do it. Why not an Osmond fan?
In the 70's I use to sit in front of the TV and tape on an audio tape whatever TV appearances I could catch! I still have them to this day! Some of them may not sound so great any more but I still hold on to them. I would even take pictures of them from the TV with a camera! Of course with a flash and all they didn't always come out that great. Was I sick or what? Yes, I went overboard back then. I'll have to admit. But we didn't have VCR's back then so I have an excuse lol.
I've also made some really special friends (you know who you are ;o)) via the Osmond forums as well. Friends that will last a life time. There aren't many words that could possibly express what The Osmonds mean to me. They are such a caring, loving and warm family. I've been so blessed to have them in my life. I just wouldn't be me without them.

I grew up listening mainly to country music because that's what my mother listened to. My first memory of any song in our household was of Connie Smith singing a song called "One A Day". I must have been about 2 years old. I still love that song today. It brings me way back to when I was just a toddler. I love when music brings back such memories. My mother would have the likes of Johnny Cash, Tammy Wynette, Loretta Lynn, George Jones, Buck Owens and so many others playing at home.
Later my older brother would play all the cool 60's songs and I got into all of that as well. The Beatles, Aretha Franklin and so many others. He'd have his freinds at the house and they'd play their 45 and dance in the living room. And there I'd be, this little 6 or 7 year old dancing with them lol!!
Then came the 70's. I'd have to say that this is my favorite era of music. I just love 70's music. I am totally stuck forever in the 70's. That's my #1 decade.
There are a few singers that my nieces have turned me on too. So I admit that I do have their songs on my iPod. The Jonas Brothers is a group that totally rocks. Literally! They seem like really good kids, had a good upbringing and seem different then other teens you see out there today. Very clean cut and you can tell they love to have fun. These guys write their own music, dress nice, SMILE WHEN THEY SING, and show a lot of respect. Something you don't see anymore these days. I like them and I'm glad my nieces shared their music with me. I also like the High School Musical movies. I think Ashley Tisdale is sweet. She's a great role model for kids today. I just hope she stays that way. Zac Efron...boy if I were only 30 years younger ha! What a cutie! And the boy can sing. Why they didn't have him sing in the first HSM is beyond me.
Other artists I've loved listening and watching through the years are:
Bette Mider - One of the best entertainers around!
June Allyson - Wonderful actress from the 40's, 50's and 60's
Barbara Stanwick - Another actress from the 40's, 50's, 60's and 70's
Victoria Shaw - Awesome singer and songwriter.
Barry Manilow - Need I say more??
